The upcoming American sitcom One Day at a Time is all set to hit Netflix from January 2017 with all new cast and crew based on 1975 series of the same name hence comprising 13 episodes.

Netflix original sitcom One Day at a Time has been written by Gloria Calderon Kellett and Mike Royce with its pilot episode being Directed by Pam Fryman. It has star cast of  Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, Stephen Tobolowsky, Marcel Ruiz and Todd Grinnell. Justina will be playing one of the central characters as Penelope whereas other supporting team will have definite roles to play.

The 30-minute sitcom One Day at a Time is being Produced under the banner of Act III Productions, Snowpants Productions, Small Fish Studios and Sony Pictures Television. A revived version of the classic novel One Day at a Time written by Danielle Steel will showcase the life story of a Cuban-American newly single mother who is busy raising her teen daughter and tween son with the support of her relatives.

The entire storyline revolves around Machado as Penelope who is a new separated former military mother of two busy raising her kids with the support of her “old-school” Cuban-based mother and friends-without-benefit building manager Dwayne Schnieder. The former medical specialist is “settled” with her doctor’s office subsequently dreaming of opening a medical college. Grandmother of the teenage kids will be essayed by Moreno wherein building manager role will be played by Grinnell.

Netflix is all excited about the reimagining of 1975 hit sitcom to air on CBS but with its renewal, One Day at a Time will have completely new aspects and visions for the upcoming original American sitcom.
