Qualcomm is the prime aid for Ola when it comes to the development of this new idea in the field of apps. Mahindra and Mahindra is thestrategic partner of Ola in this new venture which will see the passengers of Ola cabs have an out-of-the-world in-car experience while riding.
Regarding this new launch Bhavish Agarwal, Co-founder and CEO of Ola, has been quoted saying, “Cars were initially built for the drivers. But with ride-sharing, the control needs to be there for the passenger, andOlaPlay works along that.”
Also this new app Ola Play is going to give the riders the opportunity to determine which sort of music that’s going to play inside the car while the ride is going on. The onus will be on the rider to make sure which songs play as the driver steers him or her through numerous traffic jams or long laid tracks. Mr Agarwal added, “We have 60 million minutes of customer traffic, and we want to make yourOlaride better than your personal car ride. There is room to do so much in each travel.”
Besides the option to select the sort of music to be played in the car, the user of the app Ola Play will have to option to check out other locations while travelling and visit different landmarks. Also, the user of Ola Play will be able to read eBooks, watch videos contents and even decide where to shop at. The system concerned with all this synchronisations and adaptations will be active throughout the day except in the night when the actual process of the synchronisation will take place.
Raghuvesh Sarup, Category Head and Chief Marketing Officer of Ola, said, “Personalisation is super important, and eventually, that’s where we will go even from a tech point of view, making it easy for you to personalise the app the way you want it.”
This new app Ola Play is going to be made available to the users of the Ola app in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru from the coming week and for the time being it will be accessible to the Ola Select members only. But the others won’t have to wait for long as Ola cab officials have reported that Ola Play will be available to the users from different cities on all Ola Prime rides from the upcoming month. This is really going to be a mindblowing move from Ola as Ola Play is definitely going to enhance the in-car experience of the users by a long way.
