A production-ready model of the new Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire has been recently spotted without any camouflage. With a new brown option and without any major changes in engines and other features, the one great difference we witnessed was the design. The new Swift Dzire is said to be a very different car externally with a more angular shape. So much so that we have to say that the new model looks more premium than the existing models.
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire is said to have been developed on the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Hatch that was recently unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show. The new Swift Dzire’s new face that has been brought out to resemble the more premium nature.An all-new four-slat grille topped up with dollops of heavy chrome all around it besides the new sculpted bonnet also adds to the premium feel.The model which was seen in public may be the lower -end version of the car and hence comes with sweptback headlamps together with halogen lights higher variants to feature both projector lamps and LED daytime running lights. This inevitably means that the higher-end variant/s will feature both projector lamps as well as LED daytime running lights or DRLs. The fog lamp enclosures havechrome accents which give it a shinier look. A wider air dam also sets it apart from the previous versions.
2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire: Under The Hood
Engine-wise, the new 2017 Swift Dzire is somewhat similar to the Ciaz. Reports suggest that the Dzire will come with the SHVS (an acronym for smart hybrid vehicle by Suzuki) label, making it a smart hybrid not unlike the Ciaz. As we said before, the engine options stay unchanged. With a 1.3 litre DDIS diesel, with SHVS of course, and the reliable and efficient 1.2 litre petrol engine, the combination does not look too bad, Besides, these will be mated either to a 5-speed manual gearbox (which will be standard for both the engine models) or an optional AMT unit specifically designed for the diesel version. The petrol version will have a 4-speed auto box.
The new 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire will be pitted against the likes of theHonda Amaze, the Ford Aspire, the Volkswagen Ameo, and even the upcoming Hyundai Xcent (with a facelift). Expectthe new Swift Dzire to be priced between Rs 5 and Rs 8.5 lakhs.
