The release date of the biopic on India’s World Cup winning captain, “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” has been postponed to 30th September. Previously this Bollywood biopic, directed by ‘Special 26’ famed Neeraj Pandey, was scheduled to release on 2nd September, and the decision has been taken unanimously so the makers can present the movie in the best way to the audience.
Vijay Singh, the CEO the Fox Star Studios, said in a statement, “It was a unanimous decision to release the film on September 30. This would give the team some more time to present the film to the audiences in the best way. We in no way wanted to compromise on the visual experience that Neeraj Pandey is set to create with this movie.”
“MS Dhoni- The Untold Story,” is a biopic on India’s one of the most successful cricketers and current captain of the team in the shorter formats, MS Dhoni and the versatile actor Sushant Singh Rajput is portraying the title role. Sushant has worked very hard to get into the shoes of Dhoni and even mastered Dhoni’s trademark “Helicopter Shot”. The ‘Kai Po Che’ famed actor has incorporated Dhoni’s look and style in a very commendable manner.
Since the first trailer of the movie was released, fans went gaga over the movie and a huge amount of curiosity as well as anticipation has been raised among them. Apart from Sushant, Kiara Advani has also been cast in this movie as Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni and Anupam Kher will shed the character of the cricketer’s father Pan Singh. The movie also features Herry Tangri, Bhoomika Chawla and Disha Patani in different important roles.
Though the delay in release will frustrate most of the fans who were eagerly waiting, but Arun Pandey, the Chairman of Rhiti Group-owned Inspired Entertainment said it would be for a better cause, “The postponement of the release date by three weeks will only help the post production team to further augment the value proposition of the film. This is one of the most-awaited films of the year and I am sure fans will understand that the marginal delay will only help enhance the visual experience of the end product.”
