Calling out to all the rich folks out there, gaming on Microsoft’s state-of -the -art gaming console, the Xbox One seems to be getting better and better for everyone who can afford to spend the extra bucks required for the enhanced and uplifted gaming experience. For every person who already has the state-of-the-art surround sound setup and as well as Microsoft’s console, this week will turn out to be pretty great.
According to Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, the update adding support for Dolby Atmos is rolling out to the Xbox One and Xbox One S. now if that is not huge news for gamers then what is? This news was earlier confirmed via a twitter post by Hyrb.

For those unfamiliar, Dolby Atmos is a surround sound technology announced and released by Dolby in 2012. Atmos is a step above traditional surround sound, immersing you in the action so that “sound moves around you in three-dimensional space, so you feel like you’re inside the action,” according to Dolby. Dolby Atmos expands upon a regular 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system by adding height channels to create a more enveloping sound field. The Xbox One can play Blu-rays while the Xbox One S is the first games console with a built-in 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Both formats can have a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, but until now, neither console has been able to output to a Dolby Atmos AV receiver.
The Xbox Preview Program has been helpful for gamers who want to see the future of Microsoft’s console software before it’s finished, but Microsoft thinks it can do better. It’s renaming the offering to the Xbox Insider Program, and instituting key changes both to the software as well as availability.
Although there is a major concern regarding the fact as to when this update will materialise and whether it will be available to all the consoles in the Xbox line-up or not.
