Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax unveiled a new phone called the Canvas Amaze 2 in the country. The handset is pricedat Rs. 7,499 and is available exclusively online via the e-commerce site.
The Micromax Canvas Amaze 2 sports a5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display and comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which will help protect the phone from scratches. The device is powered bya 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that comes clubbed with a 2GB RAM and a 16GB internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card.
The smartphone supports dual-SIM and runs onAndroid 5.1 Lollipop. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front snapper. As for connectivity, the handset supportsLTE, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB connectivity options. A2500mAh battery completes the package.

Last month, Micromax launched Canvas Selfie 4 along with Bolt Selfie. The device runs on Android Marshmallow. It’s worth mentioning that the smartphones biggest highlight is its8-megapixel front as well as selfie camera. There’s arear ‘Tap Sensor’ that can automatically take images. The sensors can also be used to talk calls.
Micromax is the 10th largest phone manufacturer in the world and the 2nd largest in India. The company has been recently facing fierce competition forChinese counterparts likeLeEco, Xiaomi, and Lenovo, particularly in the budget department.
