Meizu’s latest offering, which at this point of time is being referred to as the Meizu ‘X’, is a recurring topic with leaks of the smartphone featuring on a regular basis on the internet. Previously, the smartphones first image was leaked and now, fresh renders give us an idea about the front panel of the phone, and quite accurately enough, the device does bear astriking similarity to Huawei’s previously launchedHonor 8 smartphone.
The fresh renders of the Meizu ‘X’ smartphone revealed a sleek smartphone with quite a simple but appealing design with the body made up of glass on top of a metal frame making the device supposedly lighter than Meizu’s previous offerings. The earlier leaks saw the fingerprint sensor on the back panel of the device but the front render does not give anything away regarding the presence of a front fingerprint sensor on the home button as well. Other capacitative keys on the right-hand side of the device include the volume control buttons as well as the power/lock button.
In terms of specifications of the upcoming device, the Meizu ‘X’ is slated to feature MediaTek’s latest processor, the Helio X30 chip manufactured by the premium 10nm process, which is said to be 20% faster than the Helio P10 processor by MediaTek. According to GSMArena,The SoC would bring a new deca-core tri-cluster processor with 4x Cortex-A73 at 2.8GHz, 4x Cortex-A53 at 2.2GHz, and 2x Cortex-A53 at 2.0GHz.A test carried out previously by a Meizu engineer showed the device is capable ofwithstanding hardcore gaming for a long time and still not face significant heating problems which is the case with the high-end smartphones of today.The processor will be backed by a large 4GB/6GB RAM and the device is said to also feature LTE Cat 6 baseband with adownload speed of up to 300Mbps as well as dual-carrier aggregation.
Meizu X’s newly leaked photos also reveal the antenna-less metal back of the smartphone. Although there have been no actual image yet of the screen size, camera resolution and display, the ring flash around Meizu X’s camera can beseen on the leaked image.
There has been no news regarding the availability of the device as of now with November 30 being a probable announcement date. Reports so far state that the Meizu ‘X’ will be launched in two different variants- a 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant that costs 1799 yuan ($260) and a 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM variant that costs 1999 yuan ($289). Considering the fact that this new device will sport a host of latest specifications, the price is definitely justified if the reports turn out to be true.
