Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 2: Netflix’s latest TV series by Marvel Studios, Luke Cage, was rolled out back in September 2016 and the show has garnered quite a fan following mainly among Marvel enthusiasts and it seems that season 2 of the same will be dawning on us shortly. The third of an entire line-up of shows leading up to the assembly of the street-level superhero team known as The Defenders, Luke Cage sees Mike Colter star as Luke Cage, a former convict with superhuman strength and unbreakable skin who becomes a fugitive attempting to rebuild his life in Harlem, after a sabotaged experiment turns his life around.
Netflix announced the news of Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 2 on the show’s Twitter and Facebook pages on Sunday, posting a short video that featured a sign in Pop’s Barber Shop reading “Season 2 coming soon.” The posts are also accompanied by Pop’s own motto, which Luke Cage takes to heart in Season 1: “Always forward.”

Further, lead protagonist Colter also previously teased that the series’ second season may see Luke teaming up with soon-to-be fellow Defender Iron Fist, played in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Game of Thrones star Finn Jones. Both characters are best known for their time as the crime-fighting-for-profit duo called Heroes for Hire.
Marvel’s Luke Cage Season 1, which also starred Rosario Dawson, Mahershala Ali, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, and Alfre Woodard is available for streaming on Netflix now and it would be a very good idea to recapitulate season 1 from the beginning building up to the events of the second season of Marvel’s Luke Cage. Although there is no confirmation as to when Season 2 of Luke Cage will be rolled out by Netflix and Marvel, it can be well deduced that the show would come out sometime towards the end of the year after Marvel rolls out Iron Fist in spring 2017.
