As a special homage to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Maruti Suzuki India has launched a line of special edition “MS Dhoni inspired” Alto Cars. The new cars will mark the association of Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India, with the upcoming biopic based on the life of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, titled M S Dhoni- The Untold Story.

The special edition models of Alto 800 and Alto K10 were unveiled by the cast members of the upcoming film, along with the Indian skipper himself and R. S. Kalsi, director of marketing and sales at Maruti Suzuki India.“As iconic brands, both (Dhoni and the Alto brand) are equally loved and recognised across languages and cultures across India. Alto is the only car brand to cumulatively sell 30 lakh units. M S Dhoni is a living legend of Indian cricket and is recognised for his dynamic leadership style in thecricketing world, ” said Kalsi, further added that both Dhoni and the Alto brand have continued to achieve outstanding recognition, which makes them stars in a league of their own.

To promote their association with the film,Maruti Suzuki has been busily conducting a range of interactive sessions with customers over social media platforms. The special edition cars feature sporty exteriors and interiors, includingseat covers which sport Dhoni’s jersey number, an upgraded music system, and other improved features.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto800 and Maruti Suzuki Alto K10will be made commercially available at Maruti dealerships from the first week of October.

Coming to the man of the moment himself, Dhoni said at the event that he finds it difficult to deal with promotional activities for a film based on his own life. Indeed, M S Dhoni- The Untold Story certainly focuses on the Indian cricketer’s professional life, but it also shines a light on the man’s little known personal journeys and struggles, including his family and relationships.

M S Dhoni- The Untold Story is coming to theatres on September 30, 2016.
