The Mahindra KUV100 subcompact SUV comes with both petrol and diesel engine and is the first Mahindra vehicle, traditionallya heavy vehicle manufacturer, to get a petrol powertrain. The KUV100 has the mFalcon family to thank for the new and improved engines. The Maruti Suzuki Ignis has a1.3 L Diesel engine which is good for a maximum output of75 bhp at a peak torque of 190Nm. The Mahindra KUV100, on the other hand, has a slightly smaller1.2 L Diesel engine,which can produce comparable power and torque output. The petrol Ignis has a smaller1.2 L Petrol enginewhen compared to the1.3 L petrol engine of the KUV100. The two petrol engines are very similar in both power and torque output as well. When it comes to transmission, however, the diesel variants of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis edges out the rival with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT option. The two competitors score big on aggressive and a thoroughly muscular styling. The new Ignis has bold stature with a high ground clearance.The Mahindra KUV100 also features inspired design. The Maruti Ignis also has a bigger chrome-lined front grille which houses the fluid headlamps. The headlamps have the LED DRL option as astandard feature. The Mahindra KUV100 comes with pretty decent, if not spectacular, features. The base variants are loaded with certain distinct features like tilt adjustable power steering, a solid air conditioner, ABS with EBD, as well as a roof spoiler, and even a gear indicator.
