‘Great Grand Masti’, which decided to release on July 22, would now be released on July 15th, preponing their film after it was leaked online. This sudden change is giving the makers of ‘Madaari‘ a nightmare as it is supposed to release on 15th July and it was a solo release of that week. But the change makes it clear that ‘Madaari’ now has a tough competitor ‘Great Grand Masti’. As a sex comedy it is getting all the needed attention and on the other hand, the producer of the movie is Balaji Films and Ashok Thakeria, and they have decided to block most of the theatres and leave the leftovers for the movie ‘Madaari’. A source from the movie said:
“This is the exactly kind of intrusion that kills the movie business. We had announced Madaari for July 15 three months back. Suddenly, this raunchy sex comedy comes to bite us from behind. Not fair! Look what happened to Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale when it insisted on coming on the same Friday as Bajirao Mastani. “
However, director Nishikant Kamat is showing no sign of anger and is outwardly unperturbed. He says ‘Madaari’ and ‘Great Grand Masti’ belong to completely different genres of movies. “They both have a mutually exclusive audience.” He also says if they both get enough screens, they should not affect each other. Producer Shailesh Singh is stressed too and believes the root of the situation is “Great Grand Masti’s” online leakage, and whatever will happen now is just the consequences that both the movies have to deal with.
But ‘Madaari’ has finally been shifted from July 15 to July 22 to flee the competition from the raunchy sex comedy, though ‘Great Grand Masti’ is already been leaked, the makers of ‘Madaari’ does not want to take any chances with their Thriller!
