Lenovo is releasing the Vibe K5 Note in India today (Monday). We already reported that the Chinesecompany has confirmed that the handset will be available exclusively through theire-commerce retail partner – Flipkart. The device is expected to go on sale or at least the registration will starting today (i.e. Monday).
A couple of days back,Lenovo announced onTwitter: “We are ready! See you on the 1st of August #KillerNote5.” The Chinese company teased the launch of the device on Twitter saying: “You don’t have to worry about a ‘house-full’ when you have the best seat in the house. The #KillerNote5 is coming.”
“Last year Lenovo was the top smartphone brand of 2015 on Flipkart, and we aim to retain that position this year as well. Since last year, Flipkart has sold over five million units of Lenovo smartphones, and we will aim to reach consumers spread across 15000+ pin codes through this partnership,” said Executive Director Mobile Business Group Lenovo, Sudhin Mathur.
Speaking of the specifications, the handset featuresa 5.5-inch full HD (10801920 pixels) IPS display and runs on MediaTek’s 64-bit Helio P10 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. It comes paired withMali-T860 GPU, 2GB RAM and a16GB internal storage that can be expanded via a microSD card.
Lenovo Vibe K5 Note runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under Vibe UI, but we wonder if Indian variant will have the same OS or better. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
