Acto-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan is back with his latest venture Krrish 4 which is slated to be thefourth film of the popular Krrish Franchise in Bollywood which spanned three other movies starting from Koi Mil Gaya in 2003. The franchise also stars Rakesh Roshan’s son and Bollywood’s Greek God Hrithik Roshan along with Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut who had all appeared in past movies on the franchise.
Krrish 4 will see Hrithik resume his role as Krishna/ Krrish, a crowd loved masked vigilante who strives to put criminals to justice. The past films involving the character have gone to many lengths to actually prove Roshan’s character to be literally indestructible and no less is expected from the upcoming venture.
Rakesh Roshan announced the fourth instalment of the franchise, earlier this month and the movie is slated to go on floors in early 2017.
“When my wife showed me a tweet with Bappa’s(Lord Ganesha) picture as Krrish, it reaffirmed my belief that Krrish is the original superhero we have. It boosted my confidence and inspired me to make the fourth instalment.”
The movie is was initially set for a December 2018 Christmas weekend release which would have seen it potentially clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s next venture with Anand L Rai, but reportedly Senior Roshan has pulled back on the date stating that he had no intention to create controversies regarding voluntary box office face-offs.The 67-year-old producer-director has said he got to know about the release date of SRK’s movie via social media.
“If Shah Rukh is releasing his film on that day, I will shift (the release date). It is unethical for me to come on the date he has already announced for his movie. We’re here to make films, not create controversies. There is still time for ‘Krrish 4’. If Shah Rukh has announced it and is coming on that date, then I won’t release my film on the same date.”
