Kingdom Hearts III is an upcoming action role-playing game that is supposed to come out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. According to latest reports, the game is also slated to come out on Nintendo NX console. The news spread all over the internet like wildfire, and now the retailers have spoken up on the matter.
How Did it All Start:
A Twitter user posted a screenshot of the game Kingdom Hearts 3. According to Nintendo Insider, the game had been listed by EB Games Australia for Nintendo NX for a moment but was removed, in the next. It appeared to be priced at $119.95 for Nintendo NX. Square Enix has not announced any additional platforms for the upcoming game, so the possibility hinted caught the attention of several fans.
Over Twitter user, “@coolgirltime” asked EB Games Australia directly about the legitimacy of the new image. They are stating that the item in the image has “never been available for preorder on our website.” And they also hinted that the image might have been produced with the help of Photoshop.
@coolgirltime Hey there! This item has never been available for preorder on our website. I would guess some amount of Photoshop was involved

According to Mobile & Apps, “Porting the new “Kingdom Hearts” title to the NX may be one of the reasons why the game is experiencing a long delay.” This does make sense.
Nintendo Insider reported that along with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Kingdom Hearts III will be the company’s biggest launch titles. On being asked, if we’ll see a reappearance of some of the original ones, Kingdom Hearts’ co-director, Tai Yasue, told GameInformer said: “It’s going to be a mix. Whenever we come up with worlds for Kingdom Hearts, we want to have them be varied. You don’t want the same type of world so that we will have different categories. That will make it feel fresh like you’re having an adventure. There’s a lot of Disney content that’s new and coming out, and we’re considering which ones to use, which would be good from a gameplay perspective,” Yasue continued. “This is not an announcement or anything, but personally, I enjoyed watching Frozen. It was magical: the stories, the songs, the ice expressions.” Additionally, he stated the team has been sharing knowledge with the Final Fantasy XV team to expand the game and get the most out of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Speaking of the character in the game, Sora will once again be the protagonist of the game, while Riku, Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey, Master Xehanort and Master Eraqus also return, alongside the inclusion of Disney characters, such as Rapunzel and Baymax. Recently Square Enix announced a new world to featured in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 at the D23 Expo. Here’s a list of rumored and most wished-for worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3:
- Star Wars
- Toy Story
- The Jungle Book
- Darkwing Duck
Following the release of Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix in Japan, the concept of Kingdom Hearts 3 began as early as 2006. And wasn’t confirmed until E3 2013. As far as we know, the game is presently in development exclusively for PS4 and Xbox One only.
