Kelor Kirti Movie Review: ‘Kelor Kirti’ is a Bengali romantic comedy, directed by Raja Chanda and produced by Mahendra Soni and Shrikant Mohta under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films and Surinder Films and it was released on 6th July. The movie has quite a long list of star cast and among them, the most important names are the Tollywood superstars Dev and Jisshu Sengupta. Along with them, there are Ankush as Apurba, Sayantika Banerjee a, Mimi Chakraborty, Koushani Mukherjee, Nusrat Jahan, Kharaj Mukherjee, Rudranil Ghosh. The plot is very similar to the Tamil film ‘Charlie Chaplin’ and Bollywood movie ‘No Entry’. Today we will happily be presenting to all of our beloved readers the Kelor Kirti Review.
Kelor Kirti Plot
The movie is funny and entertaining with the classic touch of ‘Comedy of Errors’. This is a story of two couples whose lives got entangled with misunderstanding and humorous situations that lead to the ultimate chaos. The chaos will reach its highest point with the entry of Casanova Guru (Dev) and the enchanting Urvashi (Nusrat Jahan). Mimi plays the role of Rima, a controlling housewife of Joy, who is a businessman and runs a newspaper. The character is played by Jisshu Sengupta. Nusrat Jahan plays the role of seductive bar dancer Urvashi.
Kelor Kirti Review: A Laughing Riot or A Boring Drama
The movie got a mixed review. The glamour attached with this comedy flick has attracted the youngsters. On the other hand, the presence of heartthrob Dev has been able to drag his fans to the theatre. Nusrat Jahan also has certain fan followers, and the makers are aware of the fact and has used Nusrat very wisely. But while the movie is a commercial success the critics have not shown any interest in this movie.
The Thumbs up:
- Dev and Jissu, both of them have a perfect comic timing. Dev is seen on screen after quite some time. He has reduced the number of movies and thus his audiences wait eagerly for almost every release. His last release was ‘Arshi Nagar’. On the other hand, Jissu is doing a commercial movie after a long gap of eight years! And it is true he is good in comedies and must do more such movies.
- Nusrat Jahan is looking drop-dead gorgeous and can give a tough competition to any famous Bollywood beauty.
- The plot is intrigue and interesting. It holds the grip till the end and never sags the interest.
- Mimi acts mature and has enhanced her acting ability with time. Her character of a strict wife is hilarious.
The Thumbs Down:
- Over acting is one of the major issue of the movie and most of the actors especially Koushani and Ankush have opted that which is at times annoying.
- The plot of the movie is not new. It is a remake of Tamil film ‘Charlie Chaplin’ and Bollywood movie ‘No Entry’. So the plot is known to most of the audience and thus at times the twists and punchlines are already known and lose its intensity.
Kelor Kirti Rating:
‘Kelor Kirti’ is a one-time watch comedy movie. It is only watchable due to the presence of Dev, Jissu and Mimi. In the auspicious occasion of Eid and Rath Yatra, you can visit the theatre with your family and enjoy this hilarious comedy. We from the team of Fugomo we are giving the movie ‘Kelor Kirti’ 2 out of 5 stars. If you like this “Kelor Kirti” Review, please consider sharing it!!
