Earlier this year The CW had renewed a handful of its shows and Supergirl was one of them. Nothing much has been known about Supergirl season 3 until now. The network has announced that theKatie McGrath who played Lena Luther in the last season, has been announced as series regular for the upcoming season.
Anyone who knows anything about Superman would know what evil forces the Luthers are in the Superman universe and how Lex Luther have always been on hunt of the Man of Steel. Lena, for a change, is the “good” Luther.
A“good” Luther! Is that a thing?
Apparently, Lena is an adopted Luther and is very unlike her family. Lena is a hard working businesswoman and the billionaire CEO of L-Corp.She has been struggling with her attachmentwith the name and wants to change the family legacy. People see her as a force of good.
Lena and Kara’s relationship started off uncertainly but by the end of Supergirl season 2, they became good friends. She is pretty close to Supergirl too and doesn’t realize that both Kara and Supergirl are one and the same. Although several fans are pretty sure Lena knows about Kara’s superhero identity. As yet, there’s no way to know that for sure. Guess we’ll have to wait for the next season to find out.
Development of the duo’s friendship and McGrath’s acting skill were highly appreciated in the last season. There’s group of Supergirl fans who ship Lena and Kara sighting a similarity with Korrasami. It could be wishful thinking but one can’t deny the chemistry the two share on screen.
At the 2107 PlayFest last week, the CW’s “Arrowverse” made an appearance where they announced their big plan regarding next year. As per Variety, producer Andrew Kreisberg said:
“Those episodes really spoke to what the characters were going through. We set it up so both Barry and Kara would be at a romantic crossroads, so in the musical episode, they’re both in this same place and can go on this journey together.”
Till now there’s no word surrounding Supergirl season 3‘s release date.
