Vidya Balan probably is one of those actresses in the B-Town, who has done most of the biopics. First, it was the South Indian film actress Silk and then she will be appearing as Geeta Bali in Ek Albela, the biopic of the Maratha actor Bhagwan Dada. The film in which again she will be playing the lead is the biopic of Kamla Das. The film was speculated to be a bilingual one at first. But then it has been confirmed that the film is not going to be a bilingual one.
Speculationswere being made that the film could release in Malayalam and Hindi, but now it is being heard that the production does not have such plans. The film will be Malayalam one only. The shoots will start as soon as she finishes the shoot of her ongoing project Begum Jaan.
About the film, she said, “There have been a lot of great stories narrated to me in terms of the biopics that I have been offered over the years. Some I liked, but they could not happen, some I did not like. With the Kamala Das biopic, everything fell in the right place at the right time. She is strong, level-headed and a feminist. Plus, she is a poet. So, it was a yes from the word go.”
