Kalki Koechlin has never failed to surprise audiences by her convincing portrayal of characters that veer towards being rather left-of-centre. Since her debut appearance in Dev D., she has managed to separate herself from the general stereotypes surrounding Bollywood actresses. Now Kalki, along with her father Joel Koechlin, will be seen hosting a travel show on FOX Life, exploring the virgin terrains of North-eastern India.
The show will follow the father-daughter duo on motorbikes across 4,000 kilometers of rarely travelled landscapes while being at the mercy of the harsh weather and terrain conditions. Kalki’s father, for those who are unaware, is a renowned photographer and a legendary biker. The show is designed as one that would appeal not only to travel enthusiasts but also to food lovers, thrill seekers, and photographers as the hosts explore the lands and the people in all their natural glory.
Kalki says she was especially attracted to the show’s prospects because it appealed to her adventurous nature. She said about the show in a statement: “It feels great to work with the team at FOX Life again. The North-East has always intrigued me, and it will be quite an experience to explore the terrain on two wheels. It was not one of the comfortable, relaxing holidays but every muscle ache was worth it- the show was a dream vacation for a thrill seeker like me.”
The show that will also air on National Geographic Channel will see the actress breaking all stereotypes associated with celebrities who host travel shows. Kalki and her father will be seen bonding with newly met people across the North-east while simultaneously exploring the specialbond that they share between themselves.
Swati Mohan, Business Head at National Geographic and Fox International Channels, India, promised that viewers of the show will get to see Kalki in a series of never-seen-before avatars of abiker, adventurer, and daughter, as well as someone who enjoys living life to the fullest.
