It’s finally a celebration moment for the nation as India beat Australia in Junior Hockey World Cup 2016 semi-final match thus entering Final where they will face Belgium. The winning baton got in hand when India won the match after penalty shootout hence scoring 4-2 against Australia.


Earlier the team qualified for the semi-final match after it thrashed down Spain for 2-1 in Quarter-Final match and now beating Australia in the semi-final match of Junior Hockey World Cup 2016 is definitely a reason to boast about. The match was held in Lucknow where the 70-minute game turned out to be really intense. Indian takers took their position along with the goalkeeper letting Australian men score only two points. The golden shot was carried by Manpreet when with his reverse-stick style he helped India win the semi-final match.

Taking the final step towards the main title of Junior Hockey World Cup 2016 after a 15-year long gap, Indian team gyrated as never before as they beat Aussies thus to face Belgium for the main event. The latter team, who also won the semi-final match against Germany in a shootout expressed happiness and well prepared to face host country in the finals.

The first half of the game was at Australia’s court as they played brilliantly, as always, putting the entire stadium in pin drop silence. The tension rose as the whistle blown off for a break. The guest team had already scored a point until the silence broke into loud cheers and excitement as India scored two goals, one on one, thus taking the match at a draw. Rest the penalty shoot narrated the tale as the team’s best scored the goal taking India into finals.

The zest, gyrate and cheer did not settle down until the stadium in Lucknow emptied leaving Indian team to face German team in the Junior Hocker World Cup 2016 final match which is to be held on December 18, 2016, from 7:00 p.m. IST onwards.
