Jimmy Fallon Will be Hosting the Golden Globe Awards 2017

NBC has announced,Jimmy Fallon will host the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards which is going to be held on January 8, 2017.

Commenting on the announcement, Fallon tweeted,“I’m so excited to be hosting The Golden Globes in January. And I’m really looking forward to spending time with the Hollywood Foreign Press before Donald Trump has them all deported.”

NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a press release on Tuesday. “This is the most spontaneous and uninhibited awards show on television, and Jimmy’s playful, disarming comedic brilliance makes him the ideal host to enhance and elevate the sense of fun and irreverence that’s made the Golden Globes one of the premier events of the entire broadcast year.”

Hollywood Foreign Press Association president Lorenzo Soria added, “Jimmy Fallon is an exceptionally talented and dynamic entertainer, and we couldn’t be more excited that he’ll be hosting the 2017 Golden Globes. His charm, wit and incredible spontaneity will play exceedingly well both to everyone at the show as well as the millions watching at home from around the world.”

Fallon, who is known forThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonand his six-year career at Saturday Night Live,has previously hosted the2010 Primetime Emmy Awards.

The star-studded annual ceremony has been mostly hosted by comedian Ricky Gervais (2010 to 2012, 2016) and SNL alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler (2013 to 2015). Nominations for the 2017 Golden Globes will be announced on December 12. And the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air on NBC on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 8 p.m. ET.
