iPad Air 3:A couple of days ago we reported that the iPad Air 3 could be releasing in mid-October. It was a rumour that gained winda couple of months back, in May, to be precise. But now a fresh set of rumours have emerged that claims that theiPad Air 3 release date may have been delayed to March 2017.
Is Apple Killing the Air Brand?
Update:Is Apple done with the Air line? Rumours seem to be suggesting; Apple will go on to launch a different version of iPad Pro, and it appears that the company has lost interest in the Air brand. Christian Times reported that Apple is going to halt production of iPad Air 3. Although Pro is speculated to the next big tablet from the company, some believeit is a marketing strategy on the part of Apple. According to Parent Herald, Apple savant Ming-Chi Kou is expecting that Apple will refresh its iPad Pro family in 2017. Sales of Apple tablet have dropped and their position is being overtaken by handier phablet, so that the next release needs to be incredibly impressive.
iPad Air 3 Release Date:
We were so hoping that Apple‘s awaited tablet would launch in October or November, but it looks like the device might be unveiled in March 2017 instead. A few sources claim the delay is because Apple may have turned its focus on developing the next version of the iPad Pro tablet called iPad Pro 12.9. So if the company has decided to concentrate on developing a new tablet. It’s obvious that the release date of iPad Air 3 will be postponed.
Although there has been no official word on iPad Air 3 release date, in a research note by the trusted KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, a low-cost iPad will be released next year. This model will come with the last-generation A9X processor.According to Bloomberg, Apple is only preparing iPad upgrades mostly for the iPad Pro and the software side of the tablet such as improved support on the Apple Pencil. Bloomberg made no mention of iPad Air 3.
iPad Air 3 Specs:
According to rumours, the new iPad Air will probably come in three variants — one with an internal storage capacity of 64 GB, the second with 128 GB, and a high-end version with 256 GB. The device is likely tofeature a 9.7-inch screen with a display resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. It’llrun on iOS 10, which is going to have an enhanced user interface compared to its predecessor. The devicewill allegedly come with an A10 chipset, although according to a couple of other reportsiPad Air 3 will use an A9 or A9X chipset instead. The tabletwill also be equipped with Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanner, and the 3D Touch pressure-sensitive screen technology used in the iPhone 6s.
Update: According to the latest rumours, the iPad Air 3 is going to feature at least a 3GB of RAM, which would increase the multitasking capability of the tablet and along with that the device is likely to sport a smart keyboard. Not only that, the smart keyboard will be connected with a smart connector and that would allow thekeyboard cover flow in battery power via the smart connector. Moreover, the iPad Air 3 is expected to come with an 8-megapixel primary camera accompanied by a LED flash, and a 2.1-megapixel front snapper.
The new iPad Air 3 will havean ultra-thin design at 6.1 mm just like its predecessor. It will also have an aluminium chassis just like the iPad Pro 9.7.
