Sony Pictureshas revealed a newposterfor the Ron Howard-directed Inferno,featuring the third outing of Tom Hanks who reprises his role as the Harvard University professor Robert Langdon for the third movie adaptation of Dan Brown’s novel series.
The Plot followsRobert Langdon who wakes up in a hospital room in Florence, Italy, with no memory of what has transpired over the last few days. He suddenly finds himself, once again, the target of a major manhunt. With the help of Dr. Sienna Brooks and his knowledge of symbology, Langdon will try to regain his freedom and lost memories, all while solving the most intricate riddle he’s ever faced.
The third film in the franchise that launched withThe Da Vinci Codein 2006, which brought in over $758 million at the worldwide box office, and continued withAngels & Demonsin 2009,Infernohas Hanks reprising his role as Langdon opposite Oscar nominee Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Dr. Sienna Brooks, Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi) as Harry Sims (also known as The Provost), Omar Sy (The Intouchables) as Christoph Bruder, Sidse Babett Knudsen (“Borgen”) as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, the head of the World Health Organization, and Ben Foster (Lone Survivor) as the film’s chief villain.
Filming began on April 27, 2015 in Venice, Italy,and continued in Florence, Italy, starting at the end of April. Outdoor scenes featuring Hanks were filmed near the Palazzo Vecchio and elsewhere in the historic centre of the city, starting on May 2, 2015. Filming wrapped on July 21, 2015. During location filming, its production codename was “Headache”, which may be a reference to a concussion suffered by Langdon early in the story.
Inferno is set for release on October 14th in the UK and on October 28th in the States andwill be available in both 2D and 3D formats.
The first teaser trailer for Inferno was released by Sony Pictures on May 9 earlier this year.
