Hyundai‘s subsidiary brand, Kia Motors is getting all the supports from the Tamil Nadu government to set up its upcoming plant in the state. With the dream of becoming the industrial hub for auto manufacturers, the Tamil Nadu government offered a land around 390 acres when they get the news that Kia Motors are looking to plant its upcoming plant in Karnataka.The South Korean carmaker finds it suitable to land its new set up in Karnataka for its manufacturing facility.

The factory will have an annual capacity of 3,00,000 units, which is huge! Industries Minister M C Sampath is too hopeful that the venture will be helpful for both. The Government is too keen to set up automobile plant as it will enhance the state’s contribution to this field of business. He said in the State Assembly that “After visiting Tamil Nadu, they asked us about 400 acres of land, and we have offered about 390 acres. I am hopeful that they will set up the factory in Tamil Nadu.”

Currently, Hyundai Motors has another facility at Sriperumbudur, which is about 40 km away from the location of the land offered to Kia Motors. Kia Motors had announced early this year that they are all set to enter the Indian market. The competition will be tough as the company knows very well that India is racing towards becoming the third-biggest car market globally by 2020, and Kia Motors does not want to lose its chance in the share of the business.

Right now Kia Motors retails several models; that includes – Sportage, Optima, Cadenza, and Soul, etc. though the home market in South Korea is very strong for Kia but it also maintains its international standard too, and Manufacturing currently in Seoul and Mexico and to enter the Indian market soon.
