South Korean automobile brand Hyundai is bringing Tucson in October through its Indian franchise. Hyundai India has confirmed the launch. The next-generation Hyundai Tucson was first displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo. There is a possibility that the car may release both its petrol and diesel versions. The price of this compact crossover SUV will be Rs. 16 to Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
The third generation Hyundai Tucson will be built on the Fluidic 2.0 design language. The petrol version will come with 1.6 L and 128 hp while the diesel engine is 2.0 L with 175 hp of maximum power. The engines will come with a 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. The South Korean car manufacturer might also equip the SUV with a four-wheel drive system. The Tucson will come as a CKD (Completely Knock-Down) kit, and it is expected that the car will get 50 % of localisation to keep the price and competition within control. The projector headlamps with LED lamps and daytime running lamps as well as the LED taillights along with the electronic sunroof and tailgate will feature in this car.
The interiors of the car will include some added infotainment system with a touchscreen display, multifunctional steering wheel, navigation, steering- mounted remote controls, front height adjustment and automatic climate control.
The Hyundai Tucson will be combating the position with other competitors like the Honda CR-V along with the Skoda Yeti.
