Huawei Honor V9:Just days back, we saw a new Huawei device emerge on a benchmarking site which indicated that the Chinese multinational corporation intends to step into the budget smartphone arena. Now we know the official release date for a new Huawei handset, though the smartphone in question is a much more svelte device.
We’re talking about the Huawei Honor V9 here, and according to the official teaser poster released by the company, the V9 is currently slated for a February 21 reveal. It will be announced at an event in Beijing barely a week ahead of the ahead of the MWC 2017, that will commence on February 27 this year. The teaser was shared on Weibo, the highly active Chinese social networking site.
The Huawei Honor V9 comes as a successor to the company’s 2016 offering, Honor V8, which came out in May. A lot of the features of the Honor V9 will be similar to last year’s device, though the upcoming smartphone will pack in some significant upgrades under the hood.
According to reports, the Huawei Honor V9 will be powered byan octa-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz. The V8 came with the Kirin 950 which was clocked at 2.3GHz. For the new smartphone, Huawei is believed to use the Kirin 960 chipset. This will be accompanied with a 4GB/ 6GB RAM and storage option of 64GB/ 128 GB. Like the V8, microSD expansion is also likely to be supported.
The upcoming smartphone, much like its predecessor, will come with dual 12-MP cameras at the back along with an 8-MP front shooter, but we expect the camera features to be bumped up. Besides the camera flash, there is also a fingerprint sensor placed at the back of the device. The display on the Huawei Honor V9 will be a 5.7-inch 2K one, and the smartphone will run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Finally, the device will be backed by a sizeable 3,900mAh battery unit.In stark contrast, the Huawei Maya smartphone that was seen listed on Geekbench earlier this week revealed much more modest specs, like a 2GB RAM capacity and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Huawei Honor V9 will be officially unveiled on February 21, 2017. You can rest assured knowing that future updates about the smartphone will be followed through here.
