Smartphone makers HTC have enjoyed quite a successful market run with their previous devices and now, the consumer electronics manufacturer is reportedly all set to release a new mid-range smartphone into the market. With smartphone devices turning more into a necessary have rather than a luxury today, HTC’s new offering, the HTC One X10 is targeted at a huge market of consumers who are looking for a feature-rich smartphonewithout burning too deep a hole in their pockets.The HTC X10 is rumoured to release as a successor model for HTC One X9, a midrange smartphone that was launched in December 2015. The new device will ape a lot of specifications from its predecessor One X9. A report suggests that the HTC X10 will reportedly cost around CNY 2,000 (nearly $288) and will initially be launched in China.

Hardware and Software
The upcoming HTC One X10 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch display that will produce a full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels(~401 ppi pixel density) with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 Protection. The smartphone will be powered by a true octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.0 GHz Cortex-A53)processor running at 2 GHz along with Mali-T860 GPU clocking at 700 MHz is expected to power the HTC One X10. The MediaTek SoC is rumoured to be coupled with 3 GB of RAM. The onboard memory specifications standat 32 GB of device memory with the option of expanding storage up to 256 GB via Micro-Sd cards.
The HTC One X10 is slated to run onAndroid v6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Camera
On the optics front, the X10 is pegged to feature a13-megapixel camera ( f/2.0, 28mm) enabled with autofocus and OIS (optical image stabilisation) is speculated to be present on the rear side of the smartphone along with dual-tone LED flash. Other features of the rear camera includeGeo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama as well as video shooting of 2160p@30fps. On the front panel, there is a 8 MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfie taking purposes.
Battery and Connectivity
The HTC One X10 is expected to come with a non-removable of lithion-ion battery but the battery capacity hasn’t been disclosed by the company as of yet. Keeping mind the fact that the mid-range device will be an improvement from the HTC X9, a 3200 mAh battery is expected in the upcoming smartphone. Connectivity options on the device includeWi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2 as well as the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Sensors on the upcoming device includeAccelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and so on.
