Head of Twitter India Joins Times Internet as CEO

Hardly two weeks away from the resignation of Head of Twitter India, Rishi Jaitly, joins Times Internet Global Business as the new Chief Executive Officer, today. The announcement was made after he took up the position soon quitting the post of head of India business.

The digital venture of Times of India group, Times Global Partners is a platform which supports the launch and expansion of emerging global digital companies in India. After spending almost 4 years with Twitter thus being one of the executives along with handling head of India and Southwest Asia operations, he called it quits, on November 1, 2016.

According to Rishi Jaitly, My mission has always been to harness the power of technology and media to ensure we fully realize the untapped potential of people, communities and markets. 

Quite thrilled to make Mr Jaitly a part of Times Group, Vice-Chairman Satyan Gajwani reportedly stated that it was only Rishi’s leadership ability that helped US-based conglomerate’s like Google and Twitter take over the Indian market. Now, with Times Global Business, it would boost the firm to enter the country’s business, digital landscapes and media, thus similar to that of Twitter.

The following company Times Internet’s global business include renowned media conglomerates as partners such as Uber, Airbnb, Vice, Huffington Post, Coursera, etc which help tap into resources so as to move towards India’s nascent internet space. It, however, as an estimated growth almost 52% on an annual basis as it continues to attract 277 million internet users in a regular way. Despite being only 25% less than the actual population of India, experts brief up as Indians surfing net would reach up to 550 million by 2017-18.

Rishi Jaitly taking the baton as CEO of Times Global might help the country in expanding globally thus giving a big push to the dreams of ‘Digital India’.
