Like we said, the title was announced by Microsoft at the Gamescom 2015 and was supposed to be launched inFall 2016for Windows 10 and Xbox One. But later, in June 2016,Microsoft informed that the game would launch on February 21.
Halo Wars 2 Price
There will be two editions of the game, Standard and Deluxe, with the latter being priced at $80.
Halo Wars 2: The Story
Earlier we reported, how 343 Industries’ narrative design director Kevin Grace reveals what the upcoming title holds.Speaking of the story of Halo Wars 2, Grace revealed the new story will have the same eHalo Universe appeal. “Because I can’t just run off and write whatever story I want.” That’d be fun, but if it doesn’t connect to what the designers are doing and planning and would actually make a fun game, then I’m wasting everybody’s time,” Grace said.
Halo Wars 2 is set28 years after the Halo Wars and will be connected to theoriginal story in more than one way.
The Characters
In the same interview, Grace explained: “We don’t want to squander any of those characters that we spent so long cultivating these awesome things. We’ve answered this question a couple of other different ways, but certainly when you talk about units and assets and equipment, there will be crossovers in that regard.” We don’t know much about Halo Wars 2 characters. But there are rumours that old characters from the original game, like for instance Arbiter, Spartan Locke and even Master Chief can make an appearance in the upcoming installment. Fans would certainly like that.
New Actors For Lead Roles
The Halo Wars 2 trailer at E3 showed off Cutter and Anders and look pretty different from the last time we saw them. Developer 343 Industries stated in a blog post: “Because they are different — for both casting and technical reasons. The first Halo Wars game, for all its glitteringly wondrous CG, contained characters that essentially made up.” Fay Kingsley plays Anders. “You’re going to love her performance,” 343 said. “While respecting the original character, she’s poured a lot of herself into this. And while we loved Kim Mai Guest as our previous actress for Anders, getting our schedules to jive was a challenge. We’re really excited to have both Faye and Gideon join the Halo family, and we can’t wait to show you more of the story and the amazing Blur cinematics in Halo Wars 2.”
Halo War 2: New Mods
In September 2016,343 Industries released a teaser during a PAX West panel, where they teased a new mode for the RTS. The game’s single-player campaign showed off the first mission where the UNSC crew have been in cryosleep for 28 years and wake up to face unfamiliarsurroundings. The new mod offers a “completely new way to play” an RTS game. And that, “completely new way to play” an RTS game. “It really takes standard RTS gameplay and turns it on its head. And that’s a mode that can be played in a shorter time frame as well, like five, six, seven minutes,” as per ibtimes.
A new Villain
Halo Wars introduces a new sinister villain –Atriox. He’s the head of themercenary force known as The Banished, and they are violent and ruthless. The Banished encompassed members of several species, including Jiralhanae, Sangheili, Unggoy, and Mgalekgolo. As per Halo Wars 2 Wiki, The Banished existed as its own organisation separate from the Covenant, fighting against it before the Great Schism. At some point during or before The Reclamation, The Banished arrived at Installation 00. In 2559, the crew of the UNSC Spirit of Fire encountered them.
