Bollywood’s increasing obsession with sex comedies is clearly apparent in the hype created over the Masti film franchise. The response to the latest instalment on the block, Great Grand Masti, has been no different.Great Grand Masti stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Urvashi Rautelain the lead roles. Other actors include Shraddha Das, Mishti Chakraborty and Pooja Bose in the roles of wives to the male leads.
The second instalment in the franchise, Grand Masti (2013) was the first Indian adult-themedcomedyfilm to have surpassed the 100 crore mark at the box office. However,in the case of the new movie, overtly enthusiastic response may have ironically proved to be a hindrance to its box office success. It turns out that an online leak has prompted producers Ekta Kapoor andAshok Thakeria to push forward the film’s release to July 15, 2016 from the earlier proposed date of July 22.

The film follows three friendsAmar, Meet and Prem who encounter a sultry beauty Ragini (Urvashi Rautela) who seems to be everything they ever dreamed of. But what follows is an unexpected twist as unfolding events turn slowly intotheir worst nightmare. The Indra Kumar directed film has been written by Tushar Hiranandani whileMadhur Sharma and Aakash Kaushik have penned the screenplay. The actors deliver as usual, and Urvashi Rautela packs in enough skin show to draw in audiences. Viewers say the movie has good production values and the background score, dialogues and cinematography are the attractions on the technical front.
On July 5, 2016, two weeks ahead of its nationwide release on July 22, 2016, a pirated copy of the film was leaked online on various sites and was hosted on several peer-to-peer sharing websites like Kickass Torrents and The Pirate Bay. Due to this reason, the movie has already been watched by a large audience base, thereby harming box office collections. To recover from the loss, the producers have convinced Madaariproducer and distributor Vashu Bhagnani to postpone its release from July 15 to July 22.

Both the earlier instalments of the franchise were hugely popular and Grand Masti was the highest grossing film in the Rated A category. The producers had huge expectations from Great Grand Masti and its total box office collections, but due to present circumstances, it is struggling to pull up its own making budget. Experts have predicted collections on each of the first two days to be around 2 crores,
