
There was news that hovered the air of Bollywood showbiz that there will be a biopic on former Indian badminton champion Pullela Gopichand. Now the news is confirmed that National Award-winning director Praveen Sattaru will be making this much awaited biopic with a added good news! The biopic will be made in three languages of Telugu, Hindi and English.
a source of the movie informed that : “The plan was always to make the yet-untitled film in three languages. Since Gopichand is widely popular, the makers have decided to make the film in Telugu, Hindi and English. The pre-production work has already started and the project will go on the floors next year,”
a former Indian badminton player and currently the Chief National Coach for the Indian Badminton team Pullela Gopichand won the All England Open Badminton Championships in 2001, the second Indian to achieve this feat after Prakash Padukone. Received the Arjuna Award in 1999, the Dronacharya Award in 2009 and the Padma Bhushan – India’s third highest civilian award – in 2014 Gopichand has given many proud moments to the Indians when Badminton is concerned. Gopichand served as the official Indian Olympic Badminton Team coach at the 2016 Brazil’s Rio Olympics and it is under his supervision and training Saina Nehwal went on to win the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and P.V. Sindhu the silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
National Award-winning director Praveen Sattaru will start to work on the biopic after him completing working on the yet untitled Telugu project with actor Rajasekhar.
