
The mixed double for Spain at Rio 2016 is final. Rafael Nadal & Garbine Muguruza will be representing their country for Olympic tennis. Albert Ramos Violas, David Ferrer, Roberto Bautista Agut and Carla Surez Navarro are also going to be the part of the Spain’s singles squad of tennis for Rio Olympic 2016.
On the other hand Muguruza the 22 year old tennis player, who is all set to represent her country alongside Rafael Nadal; has won the French Open 2016 by defeating Serena Williams (7–5, 6–4) in the final. So, she will be entering the tournament with lot of self confidence and expected to continue her glory at the biggest stage of sports in the world.
Officials also announced the doubles pairs of Spain for Rio Olympics 2016, i.e. Rafael Nadal and Marc Lpez, Anabel Medina Garrigues and Arantxa Parra Santonja, David Ferrer and Roberto Bautista Agut & Carla Surez Navarro and Garbie Muguruza.
Rafael Nadal is going through a serious series of injuries, last time he won a grand slam was at 2014 French Open. He last won Olympic medals in Beijing Games in 2008. After that he missed the 2012 Olympics due to his knee injuries. Rio will be Nadal’s third Olympic in a row and he is expected to show his true colour and deliver the performance he is capable of, after all he is the man with 14 Grand Slam titles.
