Fuuka is an anime series based on the manga of the same name. The manga, written and illustrated by Kouji Seo began serializing from February 2014 onwards in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The manga is available in English on Crunchyroll. Diomedéa adapted the manga for television which aired in January 2017. Funimation is licensed to release the anime with subs in North America. Now that the 12-episode run is over, in this post we discuss if there’s a possibility for Fuuka season 2.
Fuuka is a love story that revolves around two people. The protagonist, Yuu Haruna has moved to a new town where he meets a strange girl named Fuuka. The girl seems to have an equally strange alluring power that days the boy to her. And before long Haruna is head-over-heels for Fuuka. The two start a relationship that eventually runs into several complications.
The Fuuka Season 2 will be an exploration of difficulties in the lives of our two young lovers. It’ll be interesting to see if they become end-game when the season is over.
The manga is ongoing and the time of writing this (February 2017) 14 volumes of Fuuka has been published. Since there no end in view, there’s a good possibility for a few more seasons. In season 2, Manami Numakura from the band Hedgehogs who has voiced Tama will likely return with a beautiful opening theme like the one in season 1. And the ending theme too will be done by Megumi Nakajima, as per rumors.
At present Fuuka Season 2 is one of the most awaited anime series of this year. As of yet, there has been no official announcement if the show will be picked up for more seasons.
Fuuka Season 1 has a rating of 7.26 in MyAnimeList which isn’t too bad for a romance genre. The first season will be released across six BD/DVD volumes.
