Microsoft revealed its newly designed Edge browser with Windows 10, and now it comes to direct war with Google Chrome. Recently Microsoft has entered into a speed testing and power saving test where it is found that Microsoft’s Edge Browser is 70% more power efficient than Google’s Chrome browser.
In the trial Microsoft Edge browser competes with Chrome, Firefox, and even Opera and defeat all the browsers in save power test with a large gap.
For doing the test all the browser were run on Microsoft’s SurfAnd surprisingly the Chrome Browser is the first one to lose the battle. It lasts about 4 hours 20 minutes approximately while Mozilla Firefox stayed in the battle for a little more than 5 hours and Opera with its all-new battery saver feature battled for 6 hours 18 minutes, And the Edge browser lasts 7 hours 22 minutes.
Microsoft further states on its blog-
We continue to focus on power efficiency with regular updates to Windows 10, and the Windows 10 Anniversary Update will include even more power-saving improvements, using fewer CPU cycles, consuming less memory, and minimizing the impact of background activity and peripheral content like Flash advertisements. These improvements will build on the efficiency demonstrated below to make sure you can stay online longer with Microsoft Edge.
Microsoft declared that with Microsoft Windows 10 new power saver option, the Edge browser can last longer than any browser. Now with the test they have proved it. It’s turning for Google to update their browser and battle with Microsft’s browser. More than 60% PC runs Google Chrome for browsing while whole Android has taken the domination of smartphone world in its hand.
