The ongoing American television comedy-drama series “Divorce” started off pretty well in HBO with mixed reactions pouring in from all over. The mix surprisingly included positive reviews too as it is the Sarah Jessica Parker affect that has touched the souls of viewers again. The Sex and the City star is back with a bang with Divorce Season 1 and with its Pilot episode premiered on October 9, it has been garnering mix reaction around the globe.
The previous episode of Divorce Season 1 titled as “Counselling” paved off well on October 23 where Robert Dufrain (Thomas Haden Church) and Frances Dufrain(Sarah Jessica Parker) first blow up counselling session is held due to the unravelling situations faced by the two ahead of the split. One of the major reason for the split is Frances affair with Julian Renaut (Jemaine Clement) is not for a short time-period. Secondly, Robert doesn’t have any friend so he is pretty desperate for a companionship.
Apart from having major issues like the above ones, they also seem to struggle with circumstances like Frances big sacrifices made for the marriage 12 years back, Robert having an “emotional” affair with Kathy, they have differences in all the issues all the time, and so on. Divorce Season 1 tackles the issue of divorce with dark humour which major of women faces in everyday’s life.
Sarah Jessica’s latest American TV series Divorce Season 1 opened with mixed reviews with Rotten Tomatoes giving a rating of 63% based on 51 reviews. Audiences gave an average score of 5.8 out of 10. Metacritic gave ascore of 60 out of 100 based on 37 votes. IMDb gave a score of 6.5 out of 10 based on 970 votes of which 18 reviews came from the users wherein 7 from the critics. The show’s popularity deteriorated by 26% thus making a mark of almost 0.500 million. Divorce Season 1 episode 2 had a viewership of 0.849 million.
Divorce Season 1 Episode 4 titled as “Mediation” will showcase Frances and Robert meeting with a mediator hence in hopes of keeping their split good-natured and friendly. Also, Frances confides in a co-worker regarding her problems whereas Robert gets some fresh financial news. Let’s see what else more is kept in Frances (Parker) and Robert (Thomas) fate.
