Various festivals all around the world are celebrated with great pomp and show. Festivals either have some significance or some are just for the sake of fun and get-together. Here is a list of some of the craziest festivals celebrated around the world.

1. Holi

It is a festival of colors celebrated in India. On this day Devi Holika is worshiped. This festival is a great fun as people throw colored powder and water balloons on each other and wish Happy Holi.

2. Pamplona Bull Run

This festival involves a group of angry bulls chasing men down the streets for over 800 meters. Many people are injured and killed in this. Despite all this, Spanish people respect these animals a lot, particularly during the bull run. It started first in North-eastern Spain during early 14th century.

3.Baby Jumping Festival

The festival rated as one of the most dangerous festivals in the world. It is said to cleanse the babies of original sin, ensure them safe passage through life and guard them against evil spirits and illness. In this men are dressed as the devil and they jump over the babies who lie on the mattresses in the street. The babies who lie there are those born during the previous twelve months of the year.

4.Monkey Buffet Festival

It is held every year in Thailand. As the name tells, it is actually a buffet for monkeys. In this festival around 2000 kilograms of fruits, vegetables and some monkey friendly treats are arranged for the animals to have fun and enjoy. Actually, the macaque monkey population in Lopburi is so large and are considered to be descendants of monkey warrior. It is believed that they bring good fortune to people.

5.La Tomatina

This festival is celebrated in Spain. It basically has no religious significance, it is more for the fun and enjoyment. It first started with the fight of two teenagers from different streets. Usually, the fight lasts for an hour, after which the whole town square has been covered with tomato paste. After that fire trucks then hose down the streets and participants often use hoses that locals provide to remove the tomato paste from their bodies.
