The court pursued a charge sheet filed against this man by the Delhi police. 23 witnesses, text messages, emails and WhatsApp messages were found as proof against the alleged.

The data of the phone that were collected by the police were the conversations exchanged between the complainant and Pachauri. The sections under which he has been charged are 354-A, 354-B, 354-D, 509 and 341 of the Indian Penal Code. A female researcher of the institute had filed the case against the environmentalist, who was also the chief of the Nobel Prize-winning Intergovernmental Panel on ClimateChangein 2015. After the allegations were brought against him, Pachauri had to resign from his post. He was also sacked from The Energy and Resources Institute after the court declared the proof. Before that he was forcefully given leave when the incident flaunted in front of the media.
The stand of TERI on the humanitarian ground is still at the fingertips of questions. Not only the alleged but also the complainant was forced to resign. This made the lady feel “let down”. However, earlier this year when another researcher brought similar complaints against this man, no steps were taken by TERI.
