We have heard a number of names being tossed around for the role of Cable in Deadpool 2. Among them are Schwarzenegger, The Rock, Stephen Lang, among other Dolph Lundgren. According to sources, Friday Night Lights’ Kyle Chandler may be shortlisted for the role.
The prediction was made by Mashable’s Jeff Sneider. During Meet the Movie Press, he said: “People were talking about Cable from Deadpool 2. There’s been a name floating around for Cable for months. “Hasn’t changed. Don’t know if it’s changed. Didn’t make any calls about this. This was just the name that has been out there for months. So take this with a gigantic grain of salt. The biggest grain of salt your tiny little brain can imagine. The name that is floating around for Cable right now is Kyle Chandler.”
Chandler is best known for his roles in movies like Zero Dark Thirty, Super 8, The Wolf of Wall Street and Carol. He has also appeared in Netflix Original series, Bloodline and Friday Night Lights for which he won Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in the year 2011.
Sneider also said that X-Force character Domino will have a part to play in the upcoming Deadpool film. And rumor has it that Mackenzie Davis, who last appeared in The Martian and will appear in the upcoming role in Blade Runner 2, would do the role. “The name for Domino, who is said to be the scene-stealer of the movie, is MacKenzie Davis,” Sneider said.
Of course, these are just rumors, yet to be officially confirmed. So this news is to be taken with a grain of salt just as Sneider says. Deadpool 2 is currently in development and has no release date just yet.
The first Deadpool film grosses over $778 million, broke numerous records and was the fifth-highest grossing film of 2016.
