America’s longest running daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives has been grabbing the attention of millions since last 51 years on NBC television network. There have been various changes in the series such as increasing the running time slot from 30 minutes to 60 minutes, rebroadcasting same-day episodes on weeknights at 8:00p.m. and 10:00p.m., several other families were added to the plot, and much more. Meanwhile, during the years it stopped rebroadcasting as the network shut down. Also, the main focus on central families diverted towards other family stories too. After completing half a century, the makers have announced a renewal of one-year in 2016 which would take place in 2017.
Primarily focusing on the central families as in the Hortons and the Bradys, the creators added more families along with different characters with time thus maintaining the age-old actors intact. Unfortunately, on February 2010, head of the matriarch Horton family Frances Reid passed away leaving behind Susan Seaforth Hayes as the oldest actor of the series. Also, one of the actors of Days of Our Lives, Suzanne Rogers appearedin an interview thus celebrating the 40th year of the soap opera since her debut in 1973.
Days of Our Lives aired its 12,000th episode on January 2013 whereas Days of Our Lives season 52 is being aired on NBC in the current year. Creators Ted Corday and Betty Corday, the husband-wife duo, made an announcement regarding the renewal of the show with much grace and dignity which will most probably hit the floor by 2017. The show has quite a fan following which includes Hollywood star Julia Roberts, Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, etc.
So, the renewal of 51-year-old daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives will, of course, make its billion of fans on happy feet thus keeping a track on the new episodes hitting from 2017 might be agood way to go.
