According to latest rumours, season 3 of the Marvel superhero web series Daredevil will see the inclusion of Bullseye, the biggest, baddest villain in all of Hell’s Kitchen to ever face off against Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil.
Marvel’s Daredevil was officially renewed by Netflix for a fresh season at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016 back in July. But the season’s release date has been a matter of varied speculation. While initial guesses pointed at a 2017 release, Netflix officials stated that the season would not debut until 2018 at the earliest. Word has it that Netflix is contemplating to air Daredevil Season 3 before The Punisher, a spinoff series based on Jon Bernthal’s character in Daredevil. Several reports also hint at a possible attempt by the network to arrange a back-to-back release for The Punisher and Daredevil Season 3.
Season 2 of Daredevil saw Matt Murdock labouring to balance his life between his profession of being a lawyer and his secret calling as a vigilante, and his personal life was getting none the better with his attempts at both friendship and romance being continuously frustrated. However, the finale offered hopes that Matt was finally heading towards a solid direction in stabilizing his life. He even came clean to Karen about his secret identity.
[Update: The latest rumors are coming that Daredevil Season 3 may be bring Electra back as well to provide extra bit of twist and turns to the viewers of this popular TV series.]
But all that may be thwarted by the arrival of Bullseye in the next season, a mysterious mercenary who holds a personal grudge against Daredevil. In the comic books, Bullseye is one of the greatest villains to ever face off against Daredevil. His uncanny skills to use virtually any common object, including toothpicks and paperclips, as a lethal projectile make him a formidable opponent to be pitched against, despite his lack of superhuman abilities; these skills also lend him his name. Add to the mix an unquenchable desire to kill, and what we have is a dangerous force to be reckoned with. Bullseye will enter the show upon being hired by The Kingpin, aka, Wilson Fisk. But then of course he will go rogue and start killing everyone associated with Daredevil because of his personal vendetta.
Though Bullseye’s inclusion in the next season is yet to be verified by the show’s makers, Charlie Cox, who plays Daredevil in the series, was earlier reported as saying that he just couldn’t visualize the upcoming installments of the show without Daredevil’s archnemesis. “If we are fortunate enough to continue making the Daredevil series, I can’t imagine doing a run of Daredevil where Bullseye doesn’t show up at some point. It would be great to have him around at some point. Who would play that part I have no idea but I just think there’s such an interesting, rich character there.”
