
Coolpad is becoming increasingly popular in India and the company has launched yet another of its mid-range offerings in the country. At an event today in New Delhi, Coolpad launched its Note 5 smartphone which succeeds the company’s earlier Note 3. The Coolpad Note 5 is an attractive device which is aimed at buyers who prefer smartphones that combine performance efficiency along with value for money.
Coming to the key specifications and features of the smartphone, the Coolpad Note 5 is equipped with a 2.5D glass 5.50-inch full-HD IPS display with a pixel resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and pixel density of 401ppi. The smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz coupled with an Adreno 405 GPU. In terms of memory, the Coolpad Note 5 will come with 4 GB of RAM along with a 32 GB on internal storage. The latter is expandable up to 64 GB with the help of a microSD card.
The Coolpad Note 5 comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear that is coupled with a dual-LED flash. Beneath the camera unit will be housed the smartphone’s fingerprint sensor which the company boasts will provide a super fast unlocking procedure for its users. The scanner can also support an array of other functions, including making or receiving calls, recording calls, taking pictures and opening apps. At the front, the Note 5 sports an 8-megapixel snapper for selfies which comes equipped with a wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture, a smart beautification feature as well as a single LED flash of its own.
The smartphone is a dual-SIM offering, but can only support the use of either a microSD card or a secondary SIM card at one time. On the connectivity front, the device offers options that include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G, and 4G among others. It also supports all 4G bands in India along with 4G VoLTE support. Sensors on board the device include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Ambient Light sensor.
The Coolpad Note 5 comes backed by an impressive 4010mAh non removable battery unit, which Coolpad claims can provide up to 14 hours of talk time and 350 hours of standby time. The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the company’s Cool 8 UI on top. The Note 5 features a sleek metal unibody which measures 152.00 x 75.70 x 8.85 mm in dimensions.
The Coolpad Note 5 will be available exclusively on Amazon India at the price of INR 10,999 from October 20, 2016, onwards.
