Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2016 Result Declared

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2016result today. Total 126 candidates have cleared the Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination, and they have been selected on the basis of the written exam and SSB interviews held by the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence. The written exam was conducted on 14th February 2016 and who had passed the written exam was eligible to seat for the SSB interview for admission to the 142nd Course of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun; Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.

The Government of India has announced the CDS Examination (I) 2016 Result through an official statement. Among the 126 candidates who have cleared the exam, there are some common candidates who have been enlisted in all three lists for various courses. The official statement released by the Indian Government states, “The number of vacancies, as intimated by the government, is 200 for Indian Military Academy [including 25 vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders], 45 for Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala [General Service] including six vacancies reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders (Naval Wing), and 32 for Air Force Academy, Hyderabad.”

Moreover, the official press release also indicates that “The commission had recommended 92, 31 and three as qualified in the written test for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy, respectively. The numbers of candidates finally qualified are those after SSB test conducted by Army Head Quarters.” Although it has been clearly said in the statement that the results of the “Medical examination have not been taken into account” while preparing these lists.

However, the official statement also reads that “Marks of the candidates will be available on the website after completion of its complete process i.e. after the declaration of final result of Officers’ Training Academy (OTA) for Combined Defence Services Examination (I)-2016.”

Those candidates who have cleared the CDS Examination (I) 2016 and enlisted on any of the three lists are now requested to “forward their certificates, in original, in support of Date of Birth/Educational qualification, etc., certificates claimed by them, along with Photostat attested copies thereof to Army Headquarters/Naval Headquarters/Air Headquarters, as per their first choice.”
