Centre Approves AIIMS in Bhatinda Before Punjab Elections

On Wednesday, Union cabinet nodded in regard of constructing AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science) in Bhatinda, Punjab much before the State’s election. The scheme has been approved under Pradhan Mantri Swastha Suraksha Yojana. 

The respective apex institute of medical research centre likely to construct a hospital having 750 beds including Emergency and Traumas Care Centre. Other than this, it will be divided into varied sections such as Ayurvedic beds for people undergoing treatment of naturopathy, Private beds, ICU, ICCU, Super Speciality beds, Burn Ward, Accident/Trauma ward, General ward, and much more. Apart from providing facilities to the much needed, it would have Administration Block, AYUSH Block and Auditorium.

The building is to be finished under a whopping budget of Rs. 925 crores of which the entire expenditure will be borne by Grant-in-Aid backed by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The initiative has been taken thus by granting land/plot permission and eventually be completed by the end of 2018. Punjab’s present government [aid gratitude to PM Narendra Modi under whose effort such measures have been taken.

AIIMS, an apex medical centre of India is located in New Delhi, but under Central Sector Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Swastha Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), it was adhered to situate in other regions of the country also. The State’s who are beneficial enough to get permission for respective institute includes Jodhpur, Bhubaneshwar, Rishikesh, Bhopal, Raipur, Rae Bareilly and Patna. Last year, three new cities were added to the list as Kalyani in West Bengal, Mangalgiri in Guntur, A.P. as well as Nagpur in Maharashtra.

Henceforth, construction of AIIMS in Bhatinda might hold a strong point ahead of Punjab elections in the mind of the people so as to keep up the good work thus its repercussions executed in State Polls in 2017.
