The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to release the class 12 exam results by next week.It was widely reported that the results would be declared on May 24 but there were no official notifications about it on their official website cbse.nic.in or cbseresults.nic.in
The possible delay in results is attributed to the recent order by Delhi High Court, directing the Central Board of Secondary Education to continue with the moderation or ‘grace marks’ policy this year.Earlier this month, CBSE had decided to abolish the practice of awarding grace marks to students to rein the irrelevant spike in marks.
Following the order, the HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar called for a High Level Meeting last evening.
News18 reports that the court order, passed on Tuesday is yet to be received by the board. It is only after the officials get hold of the copy, the board will take a decision on the way forward about whether to go ahead with the marks moderation policy or not.
CBSE, normally publishes a notification about results on its website, 24 hours prior to the release. But, there are no such statements on the board`s website till now. This also has triggered the confusion around the results date.
Sources also confirm that CBSE class 12 results may be declared by May 27th, if they the miss the date of May 24, which is highly possible.
A total of 10,98,981 students appeared for the Class 12 board exams this year, comprising of 6,38,865 boys and 4,60,026 girls.
