In one of another landmark decision made by the Centre came up yesterday as the Ministry of HRD has decided to reintroduce Std. 10th board examination for Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) from 2017-18 academic session.
Honourable Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javdekar made an announcement during a public meeting in Jaipur, on the occasion of Children’s Day. The respective examination should be made compulsory wherein Std. 5th and 8th final exams will be taken on board or not will entirely base on the decision of the individual State’s education department. Mr Javdekar spoke with Education Minister of Rajasthan regarding the current status of CBSE 10th board exams where it has become liberal and as of now, no board session are applicable.
At present, around 2 crores 50 lakhs students appear in Std. Xth examination of which almost 1 crore 90 lakhs students belong to State boards and ICSE whereas the rest of 70 lakhs student appear in CBSE 10th boards. So, taking decision for so many candidates can’t be done scurry. The matter will be raised in the Winter Session which is all set start from tomorrow i.e. November 16, 2016. Most probably, the raised concerned will be solved and applicable from 2017-18 academic session.
Moreover, Mr Javdekar also spoke about the fee structure taken by private as well as semi-government schools. Institutions which are run by the government have nominal fee structure, but the rest of schools have a mountainous difference which is highly a matter of concern. He even urged State Ministry to look over the matter so that fee structure could not become a hurdle in a child’s education.
Apart from discussing on free structures of various schools and examination pattern for CBSE 10th Boards, HRD Ministry stated further that the present government is planning to launch a coaching institute for JEE/Medical aspirants where fee structure would be nominal along with world-class faculty, test pattern, book, materials, tutorials, discussions, and much more. Almost everything will be included which is provided in the country’s costliest and best coaching institutions.
As per Prakash Javdekar, the entire matter will be taken into consideration and be discussed in the upcoming Winter Session of Parliament starting from November 16 to December 16, 2016.
