The telecom services in India over the years have undergone a number of changes. Over the last few months, it has come across some drastic changes, thanks to the arrival of Reliance Jio in the frame of things. This has eventually forced most of the telecom service providers to take a look at the tariff plans and bring in a number of changes. BSNL has been doing that for quite some time and here is a new step that BSNL has taken which will, in the end, facilitate the users only.

The Digital India drive which has given rise to a huge amount of hue and cry among the users of smartphones in India seems to be bringing in good news for the smartphone users every second day. This one is for the users who do not have a data connection on their smartphones. It has been reported that BSNL will provide the users without any data plan on their smartphones with 1 GB of data balance at free of cost. This sounds really great for all the smartphone users in the different nook and corner of the country having BSNL GSM services.
In a statement the state-owned telecom service provider lets the citizens of India know of this new step that they have decided to take. Through PTI the statement came in as “On pan India basis BSNL offers 1 GB free data for the smartphone users who are not using BSNL GSM data services. The intention of this offer is to promote number of internet users in BSNL network.” This will be really great for all the users of smartphone who are yet to take on Reliance Jio connection on their smartphone.
Reliance Jio, however, reportedly boasts of a huge user base in India. In fact, it has claimed that it is the largest telecom network in India with over 100 million users. Hence, it remains to be seen whether BSNL, being one of the most popular telecom service providers, manages to give Jio any sort of competition. Incidentally BSNL, earlier, came out with a number of new tariffs in order to keep the faithful users committed to them and prevent any chance of switch in the future.
