After creating a genre of itself, the critically acclaimed movie of Brokeback Mountain is all set to bring its sequel. Released in 2005 the plot was based on the homosexual relationship between Ennis Del Mar played by Heath Ledger and Jack Twist performed by Jake Gyllenhaal that took the movie world by storm. The movie was both a commercial and critical success, with multiple awards like Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, Best Picture and Best Director at the British Academy Film Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Producers Guild of America Awards, Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, and Independent Spirit Awards, are some among others. If things go smooth, the movie Brokeback Mountain 2 will be released in June 2017.
After 12 years, the immensely successful movie makers of Brokeback Mountain, coming with the sequel to create history, again. Production Company River Road Entertainment confirmed the movie in the press conference in Los Angeles; they will remake of the film, but this time, it will depict a love story of two lesbian lovers in the rural USA. The movie will retain most of the themes of the original. With Margot Robbie and Emma Watson, the flick will concentrate on the secret lesbian relationship with their intolerant surroundings.
Both the stars were seen exhilarating with joy and excitement. Emma Watson told the media: “I am honoured and blessed to get the opportunity to play a character very different from myself. I think taking on personas with completely different experiences than yourself is what acting is at its core. From what I’ve seen, the script and the other people involved with this, I think we’re going to make a marvellous film.”
Margot Robbie too was full of enthusiasm: “As an Australian actor, this obviously means a lot to me. I hope to do the Heath Ledgers’ role justice.”
And about the steamy scenes, they both had to say: “Us both being straight won’t be a problem, we’re actors, it’s just something we have to do”.
The movie will no doubt be one of the biggest success of 2017.
The news above is an imaginary news from a fan’s point of view.
UPDATE: Brokeback Mountain 2 is not happening. Yes, it’s true and confirmed. The much-acclaimed film Brokeback Mountain starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal was proposed for a sequel, but it turned out to be generated a story. In fact, the film’s plot which was inspired by renowned ‘Brokeback Mountain’ written by Annie Proulx comes as a “mistake”. The writers regret to write the book even calling it as her only mistake. In an interview given to The Guardian, Annie spoke regarding Brokeback Mountain 2 thus giving a clear indication for not rolling the sequel.
