As 2018 is just approaching, we actually need to look back at all that which was delivered in 2017- the good and the bad. There are a number of movies which captured the public attention and were highly applauded.
However, in the year there was a lot which has let us down, it is important to focus on the few good things which 2017 has delivered- such as making a movie on health sanitation or more precisely, the problem of open defecation. We are, of course, talking about Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
This movie was an ultimate hit. The film stars Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar is in the lead roles with Anupam Kher, Sudhir Pandey and Divyendu Sharma in supporting roles. The film is a satirical comedy in support of government campaigns to improve the sanitation conditions, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas.
While we were actually enlightened by this real-life story which was inspired by real-life events, it seems we were not the only ones which the movie has left an impact on!
Billionaire philanthropist Bill Gates recently tweeted about the movie as being one of the 7 motivational things of the year 2017.

Bill Gates tweeted on how 2017 was a difficult year for most of us, but there were 7 things that continued to give a ray of hope and inspiration, and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was number 3 on the list, among other prominent events such as how Bhutan and Maldives become measles free etc.
While this is obviously a moment of pride for the film industry, lead actors of the movie Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar took to Twitter to express their happiness.
So we hope that 2018 brings with itself more such movies and events that continue to give us hope for a better and brighter tomorrow!
