Another brave faced a removal due to being in the red eyes of the Chief Minister of the state of West Bengal. The Commissioner of Police of Bidhannagar, who played a significant role during the probe of the gang rape at Park Street along with Damayanti Sen has been sent to the post of Economic Offences Wing (Kolkata)’s Director.Earlier just after the declaration of the election results the state saw the removal of its favorite and new hero Soumen Mitra, who was appointed before the elections.
His colleague Damayanti Sen was removed earlier and now it’s his turn. After coming back to the power, the Chief Minister has transferred a total of 7 officers of police have been removed. The most striking and the common factor of all of them was that their role was highly significant during the 2016 Assembly Elections of West Bengal and all of them were praised by the election commission of India.
Besides Jawed Shamim, WB government on Monday transferred Asansol-Durgapur CP Siddh Nath Gupta, Barrackpore CP Niraj Kumar Singh and Siliguri CP Manoj Kumar Verma to the posts of IGP (Organization, WB), IGP (Intelligence Branch- Border) and Special IG & DGP (Traffic, WB) respectively.
The North 24 Parganas SP Tanmay Roy Chowdhury, Spl. Addl. CP & Jt. CP (Traffic, Kolkata) Laxmi Narayan Meena and DIG (Malda Range) Chelling Simick Lepcha have been appointed as Barrackpore CP, Asansol-Durgapur CP and Siliguri CP respectively.
DC-ESD of Kolkata Police Bhaskar Mukherjee has been replaced by DC DD (Special) of KP Debasmita Das. In turn he has been made new SP of North 24 Parganasnew SP of North 24 Parganas. Debasmita Das has been replaced by DC SB of Bidhannagar Joy Biswas. Joy Biswas was replaced by Jhargram Police District’s SP Sukhendu Hira. Bharati Ghosh who was removed by the Election Commission’s order before the elections has been given additional responsibilities of the Jhargram Police District’s SP, beside her present posting as West Midnapore’s SP.
The total scenario of the working structure of the police officials has been jumbled up and then rearranged. The opposition is criticizing it as a revengeful activity of the Chief Minister.
