Beetlejuice 2 become a remote possibility back in 2013 when Burton first opened up to talks about the sequel to the 1988 movie. At the same time  Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton were open to returning for the sequel in case the plans of shooting the movie actually roll out. Beetlejuice 2 is pegged to have a screenplay written by  Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. The new movie is expected to feature a storyline following up on the events of the first movie where a ghost is recruited to help haunt a house, promising a thrilling comedy-thriller premise just like the previous instalment.

Burton is one of the most highly sought-after directors in the business and has agreed to helm a live-action Dumbo for Disney, so it could be a few years before Beetlejuice 2  becomes a reality and the movie actually starts filming even if the conditions are to Burton’s liking.
