Much to the delight of superhero fans all over the world, Warner Bros. animation and DC Entertainment are set to bring their next animated movie, titled “Batman: Return of the Caped Crusader.” The film is heavily based on Adam West, Burt Ward-starrer “Batman” TV series that featured Batman and Robin as Gotham city’s dynamic duo.
Batman has been revolutionised quite a few times in recent times with Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight being the most critically appreciated version of the lot. The likes of George Clooney, Christian Bale and Ben Affleck donning the costume of the caped crusader has given us many versions of Bruce Wayne which have been quite contrasting in comparison to the original caped crusader portrayed earlier in the DC Universe.
The upcoming animated film is heavily based on the TV Series starring Adam West and Burt Ward. Julie Newmar will also voice her character of Catwoman from the original series. West and Ward announced at the Mad Monster Party that one or two direct-to-video Batman animated films starting with Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be released on Digital HD on October 11, 2016 and Blu-ray on November 1, 2016 with the two doing voice roles as their characters for the series’ 50th anniversary along with Newmar returning. The trailer made its debut on August 17, 2016.
In Batman: ‘Return of the Caped Crusaders’, Batman and Robin team-up once again to take down Penguin, The Joker, Riddler, and Catwoman. Their adventure sends them into outer space and down into the depths of Gotham City alike.
‘Return of the Caped Crusader’ had its world premiere at the New York Comic-Con. The panel was hosted by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and included Adam West, director Rick Morales, and screenwriters/producers Michael Jelenic and James Tucker. The panel was moderated by Warner Bros. Animation President Sam Register.
With a huge number of DC Universe fans waiting eagerly for this upcoming venture, the ‘Return of the Caped Crusader’ is scheduled to be released in digital HD on Oct. 11, 2016 and will be available in Blu-ray and DVD on Nov. 1, 2016.
